United Retail Group liquidation plan accepted by most voting creditors

Pittsburgh, Sept. 7 - United Retail Group, Inc.'s plan of liquidation was accepted by a majority of voting creditors, according to a Thursday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Both holders of a total of $11,016 in secured claims voted to accept the plan.

In addition, 56 holders, or 86.15% in number, of $2.1 million, or 92.58% in amount, of general unsecured claims voted to accept the plan, while nine holders, or 13.85% in number, of $168,183, or 7.42% in amount, of these claims voted to reject it.

The plan confirmation hearing is scheduled for Sept. 13.

United Retail is a Rochelle Park, N.J., specialty retailer of large-size women's fashion apparel, footwear and accessories. The company filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 1, 2012. The Chapter 11 case number is 12-10405.
