United Rentals seeks loan amendment to delay filing deadline

New York, March 22 - United Rentals Inc. is seeking a short-term amendment from the lenders under its secured credit facility to give itself until April 28 to file financial statements, according to a company news release.

The company has delayed reporting final results for 2004 and 2005 as well as for 2005 interim periods and is now working towards filing its annual reports and quarterly reports by March 31.

United Rentals is a Greenwich, Conn.-based equipment rental company.
