Moody's rates UPS notes Aa3

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an Aa3 rating to the $1.75 billion of senior unsecured notes to be issued by United Parcel Service, Inc.

UPS will be issuing notes in five-, 10- and 30- year maturities, the aggregate proceeds of which will fund the repayment of the company's $1.75 billion of 4.5% unsecured notes at their maturity on Jan. 15, 2013.

UPS' Aa3 long-term rating remains on review for downgrade.

Moody's said the Aa3 long-term rating considers the company's strong business fundamentals, solid liquidity profile and consistent free cash flow generation.
