UAL gets extension to exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization, solicit votes

Pittsburgh, June 20 - UAL Corp. obtained an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

The company's exclusive period to file a plan was extended to Sept. 1 from July 1 and to solicit votes to Nov. 1 from Sept. 1.

In its June 7 motion, UAL said it needs the extension because it has been busy with pension and labor cost negotiations and, although these negotiations are complete, it has not had time to formulate a plan of reorganization.

The Chicago-based parent of United Air Lines filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 9, 2002. Its Chapter 11 case number is 02-48191.
