Fitch lifts United, Continental

Fitch Ratings said it revised United Airlines, Inc.'s senior unsecured rating to CCC+ with a recovery rating of RR6 from CCC with a recovery rating of RR6.

The agency also revised Continental Airline, Inc.'s senior unsecured rating to CCC+ with a recovery rating of RR6 from CCC with a recovery rating of RR6.

The agency also affirmed United Airlines' issuer default rating at B, secured bank credit facility at BB with a recovery rating of RR1 and senior secured notes at BB with a recovery rating of RR1.

Fitch also affirmed Continental's issuer default rating at B and senior secured notes at BB with a recovery rating of RR1.

The agency also affirmed parent company United Continental Holdings, Inc.'s issuer default rating at B and senior unsecured ratings at CCC with a recovery rating of RR6.

The outlook is stable.

The company's credit profile is supported by its leadership positions across its extensive global route network, strong liquidity profile and growing unencumbered asset base, Fitch said.

Year-to-date operating results have weakened due to ongoing challenges with its merger integration, the agency said, and rising fuel prices.
