Uni-Marts granted exclusivity extension to negotiate possible sales

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., July 21 - Uni-Marts, LLC was granted a fifth extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and to solicit votes on the plan, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Uni-Marts' exclusive plan-filing period was extended to July 22 from June 22 and the solicitation period to Sept. 19 from Aug. 20.

When requesting the extension, the company said it needed additional time to negotiate with interested parties regarding the terms of a potential sale or sales.

Uni-Marts, a State College, Pa.-based convenience store operator, filed for bankruptcy on May 29, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-11037.
