Uniforet's plan of arrangement approved, dismissing objections from U.S. noteholders

Chicago, May 16 - Uniforet Inc. and its subsidiaries, Uniforet Scierie-Pate Inc. and Foresterie Port-Cartier Inc. said the Superior Court of Montreal approved their plan of arrangement, dismissing the contestation proceedings instituted by a group of U.S. noteholders.

Montreal-based Uniforet, a forestry company, said in a statement it intends to proceed "as soon as possible" with the implementation of its plan of arrangement under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act.
