Ultimate Electronics posts $1.45 million May operating loss

Pittsburgh, Aug. 25 - Ultimate Electronics, Inc. reported a $1.45 million operating loss for May on sales of $12.49 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The net income for the month was $8.07 million.

Cash on May 31 was $3.64 million.

Ultimate Electronics, a Thornton, Colo.-based consumer electronics retailer, filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 11, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-10104.
