Trump Entertainment Resorts gets precautionary exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Dec. 8 – Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc. obtained an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to an order filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, Trump’s exclusive filing period was extended through March 9 from Dec. 3 and the solicitation period through May 9 from Feb. 3.

As previously reported, Trump’s third amended joint plan of reorganization was confirmed on March 12, 2015, but the plan effective date has not yet occurred.

The company said the plan has not taken effect because some conditions have not been met, including the condition requiring Trump’s collective bargaining agreement to become final.

Although it believes that these conditions will ultimately be met, the company said it is seeking the exclusivity extension “out of an abundance of caution” in the unlikely event that the plan does not take effect.

Trump Entertainment Resorts, an Atlantic City-based owner and operator of casino resort properties, filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 9, 2014. The Chapter 11 case number is 14-12103.
