Trump requests exclusivity extension, awaiting plan effective date

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, April 1 – Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc. is seeking an extension of its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a Chapter 11 plan, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive filing period through Aug. 5 from April 7 and the solicitation period through Oct. 6 from June 8.

As previously reported, the court confirmed Trump’s third amended plan on March 12.

The company said the plan effective date has not yet occurred, as some conditions, including a collective bargaining agreement order becoming final, have not yet been met.

Trump said the proposed extension will allow it to maintain exclusivity “in the unlikely event that the plan does not become effective.”

A hearing is scheduled for April 22.

Trump Entertainment Resorts, an Atlantic City-based owner and operator of casino resort properties, filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 9, 2014. The Chapter 11 case number is 14-12103.
