Tropicana Atlantic City merges into liquidating company following sale

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 17 - Tropicana Atlantic City Resort & Casino has been merged into liquidating company Adamar of NJ In Liquidation LLC following the sale of substantially all of its assets, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.

The company said New Jersey law requires the debtors to either liquidate and dissolve or convert or merge into limited liability companies.

The name change was also required under the sale agreement.

Tropicana is one of the largest casino hotels in Atlantic City. It filed for bankruptcy on April 29, 2009. Its Chapter 11 case number is 09-20711.
