WJ Communications acquired by TriQuint

By Angela McDaniels

Tacoma, Wash., May 22 - TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc.'s acquisition of WJ Communications, Inc. was completed after WJ stockholders approved the merger at a special meeting on Thursday, according to a WJ new release.

WJ said its stock stopped trading on the Nasdaq Global Market at the close of business Thursday, and all outstanding shares of WJ were converted into the right to receive $1 per share in cash.

The San Jose, Calif.-based maker of products for wireless and radio frequency identification systems is now a wholly owned subsidiary of TriQuint.

The companies reached the $72 million merger agreement in March.

Hillsboro, Ore.-based TriQuint supplies high-performance modules, components and foundry services for communications companies.
