Trico Marine Services wants additional time to garner plan support

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., May 2 - Trico Marine Services, Inc. asked the court to extend its exclusive period to solicit votes on a plan of reorganization, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its solicitation period to July 29 from April 29.

A hearing is set for May 23.

Since the disclosure statement approval hearing is set for May 13, the debtors have not yet solicited acceptances of the plan, the filing said.

The disclosure statement and plan of reorganization were filed in February.

Trico, a marine services company based in the Woodlands, Texas, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 25, 2010 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The Chapter 11 case number is 10-12653.
