Trico Marine seeks approval for $8.5 million sale of two vessels

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 17 - Trico Marine Services, Inc. asked the court to approve Trico Marine Assets, Inc. and Trico Marine International, Inc.'s sale of two vessels to NigerDelta Shipping Agency Ltd. for a total of $8.5 million, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The vessels being sold are the Spirit River and Truckee River.

NigerDelta has agreed to pay a deposit of 20% of the purchase price.

Under the proposed sale agreement, the sale must be completed by Oct. 8.

A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 30.

Trico, a marine services company based in The Woodlands, Texas, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 25. The Chapter 11 case number is 10-12653.
