Tribune reports $97.53 million net loss for June 25 to July 29 period

Pittsburgh, Aug. 29 - Tribune Co. reported a $97.53 million net loss for the period of June 25 to July 29 on $256.63 million in total revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Those figures showed a decline from the $48.58 million of net income posted for the period of May 21 to June 24 on $319.79 million in total revenues.

Tribune also reported an operating profit of $12.61 million for the latest period, down from the $67.09 million operating profit seen in the previous period.

Cash and cash equivalents were $1,664,294,000 as of July 29, up from $1,614,734,000 as of June 24.

Tribune, a Chicago-based media company, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 8, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13141.
