Tribune net income improves to $27.29 million for April 23 to May 20

Pittsburgh, June 19 - Tribune Co. reported net income of $27.29 million for the period of April 23 to May 20 on $246.29 million in total revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed June 19 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Those figures showed improvement from net income of $25.9 million posted for the period of March 26 to April 22 on total revenue of $225.3 million.

The company also reported an operating profit of $39.94 million for the latest period, up from $20.1 million during the previous period.

Cash and cash equivalents were $1.53 billion as of May 20, increasing from $1.48 billion on April 22.

Tribune, a Chicago-based media company, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 8, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13141.
