Tribune reports $39.47 million of net income for Oct. 22 to Nov. 18

Pittsburgh, Dec. 18 - Tribune Co. posted net income of $39.47 million for the period of Oct. 22 through Nov. 18 on $256.27 million in total revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The figures showed improvement from the $29.93 million of net income reported for the period of Sept. 24 through Oct. 21 on $244.31 million in total revenues.

Tribune also reported an operating profit of $50.54 million for the most recent period, up from $41.56 million.

Cash and cash equivalents were $1,820,041,000 as of Nov. 18, up from $1,750,790,000 at Oct. 21.

Tribune, a Chicago-based media company, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 8, 2008 under Chapter 11 case number 08-13141.
