Tribune sees $20.19 million in net income for Aug. 27 to Sept. 23

Pittsburgh, Oct. 24 - Tribune Co. posted net income of $20.19 million for the period from Aug. 27 through Sept. 23 on $236.55 million in total revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Those figures showed improvement from the $3.66 million of net income reported for the period from July 30 through Aug. 26 on total revenue of $217.5 million.

Tribune also reported an operating profit of $29.77 million for the most recent period, up from $15.6 million.

Cash and cash equivalents were $1,692,806,000 as of Sept. 23, up from $1,689,811,000 at Aug. 26.

Tribune, a Chicago-based media company, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 8, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13141.
