Tribune operating profit falls to $22.97 million for June 28-Aug. 1

Pittsburgh, Aug. 26 - Tribune Co. reported a $22.97 million operating profit for the period of June 28 to Aug. 1 on $272.79 million in total revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Thursday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The figures showed a decline from the $48.99 million operating profit posted for the period of May 24 to June 27 on $301.4 million in total revenues.

Net income for the July period was $6.37 million, down from $33.16 million of net income for the June period.

The company had $907.62 million in cash and cash equivalents at Aug. 1, up from $855.99 million at June 27.

Tribune, a Chicago-based media company, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 8, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13141.
