Tribune records $43.66 million operating profit for May 25 to June 28

Pittsburgh, July 29 - Tribune Co. reported a $43.66 million operating profit for the period of May 25 to June 28 on $289.68 million in total revenues, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The figures showed improvement over the $10.33 million operating profit posted for the period of April 27 to May 24 on $245.59 million in total revenues.

The net income for the latest period was $43.88 million, up from an $18.17 million net income for the previous period.

The company had $743.37 million in cash and cash equivalents at June 28, compared with $710.89 million at May 24.

Tribune, a Chicago-based media company, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 8, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13141.
