Toys ‘R’ Us posts $131 million operating loss for Oct. 29 to Nov. 25

Pittsburgh, Dec. 29 – Toys ‘R’ Us, Inc. reported a $131 million operating loss for the period of Oct. 29 through Nov. 25 on $691 million in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Dec. 29 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

In comparison, Toys ‘R’ Us posted a $109 million operating loss for the period of Sept. 18 through Oct. 28 on $650 million in net sales.

The net loss for the November period was $183 million, narrowing significantly from a $329 million net loss for the previous period.

In addition, the company had $170 million in cash and cash equivalents as of Nov. 25, down from $214 million at Oct. 28.

Toys ‘R’ Us is a Wayne, N.J., toy retailer. The company filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 19 under Chapter 11 case number 17-34665.
