TM Capital names Robert C. Grien head of finance, restructuring group

Knoxville, Tenn., July 21 - TM Capital Corp. said Robert C. Grien has joined the firm as a managing director and head of the finance and restructuring advisory group.

Grien is based in the firm's New York office. TM Capital said he has extensive experience in leveraged transactions and restructurings, together with in-depth knowledge of private and public leveraged finance markets.

His areas of expertise include complex financial structuring, restructuring, due diligence, credit analysis, valuation and market pricing.

Prior to joining TM Capital, Grien was a senior managing director and head of the leveraged finance group at Deerfield Capital Management, where he founded and managed the firm's direct middle market lending practice and was responsible for the origination and execution of nearly $1 billion in first-lien, second-lien and mezzanine loans.

Previously, Grien held several positions at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, including managing director, chief credit officer of the investment banking and leveraged finance groups and chairman of the credit commitment committee. He was also a founding partner of DLJ Strategic Partners and co-founder and chief operating officer of the Kelso Mezzanine Fund.

Grien is a graduate of Tulane University and received a master's in business administration from Columbia Business School, where he graduated with Beta Gamma Sigma honors.

New York's TM Capital provides investment and merchant banking services including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, financing and advisory services.
