THQ exclusive plan vote solicitation period extended through Aug. 16

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, June 19 - THQ, Inc. obtained an extension through Aug. 16 of its exclusive period for soliciting votes on its plan of liquidation, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The exclusive solicitation period was previously scheduled to expire on June 17.

THQ's disclosure statement was approved on May 30, and the plan confirmation hearing is set for July 16 with votes due July 2.

As a result, THQ said the June 17 deadline did not give it enough time to solicit votes or to give parties in interest leeway to hold plan discussions "under the mutually protective umbrella of exclusivity."

THQ, a developer and publisher of video games based in Agoura Hills, Calif., filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 19. Its Chapter 11 case number is 12-13398.
