By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, April 22 - THQ Inc. said three buyers emerged from the bidding and sale process for some of its intellectual properties with offers to pay $6.55 million for the six available lots, according to a company news release.

The sales are subject to bankruptcy court approval.

The $6.55 million sale of the intellectual property assets breaks down as follows:

• $4.9 million from Nordic Games Licensing AB for Darksiders, Red Faction, MX vs ATV, other owned software, including Destroy all Humans!, Summoner and more, and other licensed software, including Marvel Super Hero Squad, Supreme Commander and more;

• $1.35 million from Gearbox Software, LLC for Homeworld; and

• $.3 million from 505 Games Srl for Drawn to Life and Drawn to Life: the Next Chapter.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware is expected to hear the sale motions on May 13, and the company expects the transactions to be finalized after that, the release said.

THQ, a developer and publisher of video games based in Agoura Hills, Calif., filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 19. Its Chapter 11 case number is 12-13398.
