THQ posts $17.47 million operating loss for Jan. 1 to Feb. 2 period

Wilmington, Del., March 15 - THQ Inc. posted a $17.47 million loss from operations on sales of $252.07 million for the period of Jan. 1 through Feb. 2, according to the company's monthly operating report filed March 15 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Those figures compare to a $5.28 million operating loss for the period of Dec. 19 to Dec. 29 on $240 million in sales.

The net loss for January was $23.13 million.

The company also reported cash and cash equivalents of $70.58 million as of Feb. 2, up from $313,494 at the end of December.

THQ, a developer and publisher of video games based in Agoura Hills, Calif., filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 19 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Its Chapter 11 case number is 12-13398.
