THL Credit Senior Loan Fund to invest in loans via stock proceeds

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., Aug. 2 - THL Credit Senior Loan Fund plans to raise funds for investments via an offering of common stock, according to an N-2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The newly organized, non-diversified, closed-end management investment company seeks to generate current income and preservation of capital, primarily through investments in dollar-denominated senior secured corporate loans and notes. The fund expects to invest in bank loans whose senior and subordinated debt is rated below investment grade.

The portfolio managers will be James R. Fellows, Brian W. Good, Robert J. Hickey and Brian J. Murphy.

The company registered a token 50,000 shares at $20 apiece to raise $1 million. The fund intends to apply for listing on the New York Stock Exchange.

The sales load and management fee have not yet been determined.

Four Wood Capital Advisors, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of New York-based Four Wood Capital Partners, LLC, will serve as the investment adviser.
