THL Credit names managing director Murphy as head of capital markets

Olympia, Wash., Feb. 6 – THL Credit Advisors LLC named Brian Murphy as head of capital markets, according to a press release.

Murphy, who is based in Chicago, is a managing director and senior portfolio manager for THL Credit’s tradable credit strategy.

In this newly created role, he will be responsible for overseeing all of THL Credit’s capital markets activities, including sourcing investment opportunities from banks and lenders and managing excess risk across THL Credit’s tradable credit and direct lending strategies.

Murphy has more than 24 years of investment industry experience, principally in the area of leveraged finance. He joined THL Credit in 2012 in connection with the company’s acquisition of McDonnell Investment Management, LLC, where he was a senior credit analyst and senior portfolio manager in the alternative credit strategies group.

"Brian’s relationships and expertise in leveraged finance are valuable assets to our team in this new role and will strengthen our ability to identify opportunities and manage risk across the platform.”

THL Credit is a Boston-based alternative credit investment firm.
