S&P: Community Health, Tenet unchanged

Standard & Poor's said that Community Health Systems Inc.'s unsolicited $3 billion offer to acquire Tenet Healthcare Corp. does not yet affect the ratings of either hospital chain.

While the addition of Tenet's 50 hospitals could give Community Health an industry-leading presence of more than 170 facilities, it also would pose the hurdle of effectively integrating the acquired operations and increase Community Health's debt leverage, S&P said.
