Freescale Semiconductor calls $100 million of 8 7/8% notes due 2014

Kansas City, Kan., Aug. 13 - Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. will redeem $100 million of its 8 7/8% senior fixed-rate notes due 2014, according to an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will be redeemed on Sept. 13 at 102.219 plus accrued interest to the redemption date.

The company said it plans to fund the redemption with cash on hand.

Freescale is an Austin, Texas-based designer and manufacturer of embedded semiconductors for the automotive, consumer, industrial, networking and wireless markets.
