Baton Rouge, La., defeases $53.77 million 2002 A, B refunding bonds

Kansas City, Kan., April 4 - Baton Rouge, La., defeased a portion of its series 2002A and 2002B taxable refunding bonds, according to a notice.

The bonds will be redeemed on Jan. 15, 2013 at 102 plus accrued interest to the redemption date.

The following series 2002A bonds are affected:

• $4,545,000 of 5.375% bonds due Jan. 15, 2018;

• $5,735,000 of 5.7% bonds due Jan. 15, 2023; and

• $8,195,000 of 5.9% bonds due Jan. 15, 2029.

The following series 2002B bonds are affected:

• $7.83 million of 5.45% bonds due Jan. 15, 2018;

• $10,355,000 of 5.7% bonds due Jan. 15, 2023; and

• $17,105,000 of 5.85% bonds due Jan. 15, 2029.
