Hawaii calls four series of Hawaiian Electric special purpose bonds

Madison, Wis., March 29 - The Department of Budget and Finance of the State of Hawaii gave notice that it will redeem four series of its Hawaiian Electric Co. special purpose revenue bonds on April 30.

The bonds will be redeemed at par plus accrued interest.

Affected are the following outstanding bonds;

• $50 million 5.75% series 1999B bonds due Dec. 1, 2018;

• $35 million 6.2% series 1999C bonds due Nov. 1, 2029;

• $20 million 6.15% series 1999D bonds due Jan. 1, 2020 and

• $66 million 5.7% series 2000 bonds due July 1, 2020.

The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Co., NA is the trustee and agent.

The issuer is based in Honolulu. The electric company is also based in Honolulu.
