California calls $253.1 million, defeases $329.66 million of G.O.s

Minneapolis, Nov. 2 - The State of California called $253.1 million and defeased $329.66 million of its general obligation bonds, according to two notices.

The following bonds will be redeemed at par plus accrued interest on Dec. 3:

• $30,955,000 of 5% bonds due Oct. 1, 2023;

• $8.47 million of 5.125% bonds due Oct. 1, 2027;

• $56,655,000 of 4.75% bonds due Dec. 1, 2028;

• $1.94 million of 4.75% bonds due April 1, 2029;

• $2.3 million of 5% bonds due Aug. 1, 2024;

• $2.3 million of 5% bonds due Aug. 1, 2029;

• $445,000 of 5.125% bonds due June 1, 2024;

• $445,000 of 5.125% bonds due June 1, 2025;

• $11.69 million of 4.5% bonds due Oct. 1, 2023;

• $34.3 million of 5% bonds due Oct. 1, 2024;

• $790,000 of 4.75% bonds due Oct. 1, 2025;

• $2,605,000 of 5% bonds due Oct. 1, 2028; and

• $100,205,000 of 5% bonds due Oct. 1, 2032.

The following bonds were defeased:

• $15,075,000 of 4.75% bonds due Sept. 1, 2023 to be redeemed March 1, 2013;

• $37,995,000 of 5% bonds due Feb. 1, 2024 to be redeemed Feb. 1, 2013;

• $39.99 million of 4.75% bonds due Feb. 1, 2025 to be redeemed Feb. 1, 2013;

• $42.09 million of 5.25% bonds due Feb. 1, 2026 to be redeemed Feb. 1, 2013;

• $44,305,000 of 5.25% bonds due Feb. 1, 2027 to be redeemed Feb. 1, 2013;

• $95,705,000 of 5.25% bonds due Feb. 1, 2029 to be redeemed Feb. 1, 2013; and

• $54.5 million of 5% bonds due Feb. 1, 2031 to be redeemed Feb. 1, 2013.

The treasurer of the state of California is the escrow agent.
