Richland County, S.C., school district defeases $206.42 million bonds

Madison, Wis., Sept. 30 - School District No. 1 of Richland County, S.C., said it defeased its $206.42 million of outstanding series 2003 general obligation bonds on Sept. 30.

The original principal amount of the 2003 bonds was $235 million. The bonds are due March 1 in the years 2014 through 2027 and 2029 and have coupons of 4.75% and 5%.

The defeased bonds will be redeemed on March 1, 2013 at 101 plus accrued interest to the redemption date.
