Birmingham to redeem $66.71 million 2001 A, C G.O. refunding warrants

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 26 - The City of Birmingham, Ala., announced that it has called all $46.87 million of its series 2001 A and $19.84 million of series 2001 C general obligation refunding warrants for redemption at 101 plus interest on Nov. 1.

Affected are the following 2001 A bonds:

• $2.81 million of 5.75% bonds due May 1, 2012;

• $4.19 million of 5.75% bonds due May 1, 2013;

• $3.81 million of 5.25% bonds due May 1, 2014;

• $3.5 million of 5.25% bonds due May 1, 2015;

• $4.57 million of 5.25% bonds due May 1, 2016;

• $6.34 million of 5.25% bonds due May 1, 2017;

• $2 million of 4.65% bonds due May 1, 2018;

• $5 million of 5.25% bonds due May 1, 2018;

• $7.68 million of 5.375% bonds due May 1, 2019; and

• $6.98 million of 5% bonds due May 1, 2023.

The following 2001 C bonds are affected:

• $2.75 million of 5.75% bonds due May 1, 2013;

• $2.79 million of 5.25% bonds due May 1, 2014;

• $3.04 million of 5.25% bonds due May 1, 2015;

• $3.21 million of 5.25% bonds due May 1, 2016;

• $3.4 million of 5.25% bonds due May 1, 2017; and

• $4.67 million of 5.25% bonds due May 1, 2018.
