California water resources department defeases some power supply bonds

Madison, Wis., Sept. 1 - The State of California Department of Water Resources said it defeased some of its series 2002A power supply revenue bonds on Aug. 31.

The defeasance included the following bonds:

• $9.365 million of 4.6% bonds due May 1, 2013;

• $24.055 million of 4% bonds due May 1, 2013;

• $25.18 million of 5% bonds due May 1, 2013; and

• $100 million of 5.5% bonds due May 1, 2013.

The defeased bonds will be redeemed on May 1, 2012 at 101.

The Treasurer of the State of California is the trustee and agent, and U.S. Bank, NA is the co-trustee.
