Human Genome exchanges $77.53 million of 2.25% convertibles for stock

Madison, Wis., Aug. 1 - Human Genome Sciences, Inc. issued common stock to holders of its 2.25% convertible subordinated notes due 2011 in exchange for $77,528,000 principal amount of the notes, according to an 8-K filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company issued a total of 5,026,743 shares of common stock in several separate transactions on July 29.

Human Genome Sciences is a Rockville, Md., biopharmaceutical company.
