Maryland Department of Transportation defeases $172.8 million bonds

Minneapolis, Oct. 27 - The Department of Transportation of Maryland announced that it has defeased $172.8 million of its series 2004 consolidated transportation bonds.

The defeasance was effective Oct. 20.

The notes, due 2015 to 2019, will be redeemed at par plus accrued interest on their first call date, May 1, 2014.

The U.S. Bank Corporate Trust Services is the escrow deposit agent.
