Northern Illinois University defeases, calls facilities system bonds

Madison, Wis., Jan. 7 - The board of trustees of Northern Illinois University said that the issuer defeased and will redeem some of its auxiliary facilities system revenue bonds, series 2001.

The defeased bonds will be redeemed on April 1 at par plus accrued interest to the redemption date.

Affected are the following bonds:

• $1.595 million of 4.25% bonds due April 1, 2011;

• $1.01 million of 4.4% bonds due April 1, 2012;

• $1.05 million of 4.5% bonds due April 1, 2013;

• $1.1 million of 5% bonds due April 1, 2014;

• $1.15 million of 5% bonds due April 1, 2015;

• $1.215 million of 5% bonds due April 1, 2016;

• $4.28 million of 5% bonds due April 1, 2017;

• $6.545 million of 4.875% bonds due April 1, 2018;

• $6.865 million of 5% bonds due April 1, 2019;

• $7.21 million of 5% bonds due April 1, 2020;

• $7.565 million of 5% bonds due April 1, 2021;

• $7.94 million of 5% bonds due April 1, 2022;

• $7.69 million of 5% bonds due April 1, 2026; and

• $12.935 million of 5% bonds due April 1, 2029.

The Amalgamated Bank of Chicago is the agent.

The university is located in Dekalb, Ill.
