University of Akron, Ohio, nixes redemption of 2008C-1, 2008C-2 bonds

Madison, Wis., Aug. 11 - The University of Akron in Ohio rescinded the planned full redemption of its $64.215 million of series 2008C-1 and $64.13 million of series 2008C-2 general receipts refunding bonds, according to a notice.

The variable-rate bonds, which are due Jan. 1, 2029, were originally to be redeemed on Sept. 1 at par plus accrued interest up to the redemption date.
