Newport, Ky., calls some Kentucky League of Cities 2002 debt

Madison, Wis., July 6 - The City of Newport, Ky., said it will redeem $1.62 million of its $50 million series 2002 Kentucky League of Cities Funding Trust lease program revenue bonds on Sept. 1.

The variable-rate bonds due 2032 will be redeemed at par plus accrued interest up to the redemption date.

Huntington National Bank is the trustee.
