Los Angeles Unified School District prepays $64.91 million in COPs

Knoxville, Tenn., April 6 - The Los Angeles Unified School District said it prepaid $45.3 million of its series 1997A variable-rate certificates of participation (Belmont Learning Complex) on Feb. 1 and defeased $19.605 million of its series 1998A refunding COPs (Multiple Properties Project), which were prepaid on March 1.

The Belmont Learning Complex COPs were due Dec. 1, 2017 and were prepaid at par.

The Multiple Properties Project COPs had coupons ranging from 4.75% to 5% and scheduled maturities ranging from Nov. 1, 2010 to Nov. 1, 2013 and were prepaid at 100.5.
