Metropolitan Government of Nashville defeases $254.98 million bonds

Madison, Wis., Oct. 13 - The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County of Tennessee said it has defeased a total of $254.98 million of its general obligation bonds, series 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005C.

Defeased were the following bonds:

• $94.52 million of 2002 bonds, maturing on Nov. 15 in the years 2011 through 2024;

• $45.32 million of 2003 bonds, maturing on April 1 in the years 2017, 2018, and 2021 through 2024;

• $43.565 million of 2004 bonds, maturing on June 1 in the years 2015 through 2024; and

• $71.575 million of 2005C bonds, maturing on Feb. 1 in the years 2017 through 2022.

The defeased 2002 bonds will be redeemed on Nov. 15; the 2003 bonds on April 1, 2012; the 2004 bonds on June 1, 2014; and the 2005C bonds on Feb. 1, 2015.
