Noranda buys back $205.7 million of notes for $50.5 million during first quarter of 2009

New York, May 8 - Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp. announced the repurchase of $205.7 million principal amount of its notes during the first quarter at a cost of $50.5 million plus fees.

The total purchase price was $51.4 million.

The company said it used proceeds from a hedge settlement agreement.

Noranda is a Franklin, Tenn.-based producer of value-added primary aluminum products as well as high-quality rolled aluminum coils.
