By Devika Patel

Knoxville, Tenn., Aug. 11 - EPL Intermediate Inc., the holding company for El Pollo Loco Inc., announced in a 10-Q filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission that, on June 25, it repurchased a portion of its $121.96 million in outstanding 2013 notes with $2 million in cash from operations.

The notes were bought back "at a price that approximated their accreted value," the company said in the filing.
