Cinemark buys back $47 million of 9¾% discount notes in open market

New York, Aug. 13 - Cinemark Holdings, Inc. repurchased $47 million of its 9¾% senior discount notes due 2014 as part of six open-market purchases in July and August, according to a 10-Q filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company paid a total of $42.758 million for the securities.

On Feb. 1, 2007, the company announced plans to use a portion of the proceeds from its initial public offering to redeem all or part of its 9% senior subordinated notes due 2013 or 9¾% discount notes.

Cinemark is a motion picture exhibitor based in Plano, Texas.
