ViroPharma calls $79 million 6% convertibles due 2007

By Angela McDaniels

Seattle, Jan. 26 - ViroPharma Inc. said it will call all of its outstanding $79 million 6% convertible subordinated notes due March 2007 on March 1.

ViroPharma will pay 100.857% plus interest accrued to but excluding the redemption date.

A notice of redemption will be sent to all registered noteholders by trustee The Bank of New York (800 254-2826).

By redeeming the notes early, ViroPharma estimated it will reduce its annual interest expense by about $4 million over the remaining one-year life of the notes.

Exton, Pa.-based ViroPharma develops and markets drugs for the treatment of viral diseases such as cytomegalovirus and hepatitis C.
