Shaw Communications calls 8.5% COPrS

New York, Nov. 2 - Shaw Communications Inc. said it will redeem its $172.5 million of 8.5% series B Canadian Originated Preferred Securities on Dec. 16.

The Calgary, Alta., communications company will pay par of $25.00 per security plus accrued interest.

Shaw said it believes the redemption is "prudent given the current interest and foreign exchange rate environments."
