KCS Energy to redeem 8 7/8% notes, repay bank debt

New York, March 17 - KCS Energy Inc. said it plans to redeem all its 8 7/8% senior subordinated notes due 2006 and to repay bank facility borrowings using proceeds from a planned offering of $150 million senior notes due 2012. Proceeds will also be used for general corporate purposes.

As of Dec. 31, 2003, the company had $125 million of the 8 7/8% notes outstanding, according to a 10-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

KCS Energy is a Houston oil and gas exploration and production company.
