British Airways buys back some 10 7/8% notes

New York, Nov. 21 - British Airways plc (Ba2) said that it bought back 19% of the originally issued £100 million principal amount of its 10 7/8% bonds due 2008 for cancellation.

The London-based international airline said the repurchase, which took place on Nov. 20, leaves 71% of the initial amount of the bonds outstanding.

The company sold £100 million of the bonds in May 1988.
