California plans redemption of $1.52 billion general obligation bonds

Minneapolis, April 23 - The State of California called and defeased $1,518,760,000 of its general obligation bonds, according to two notices.
The following bonds will be redeemed at par plus accrued interest to the redemption date:
• $280,505,000 of bonds to be redeemed on May 23;
• $3,805,000 of bonds to be redeemed on Oct. 1, 2013;
• $368,215,000 of bonds to be redeemed on Aug. 1, 2013; and
• $866,235,000 of bonds to be redeemed on Nov. 1, 2013.
The Treasurer of the State of California is the escrow agent.
